Outreach Teams
FAQ’s
What could our group do that would best serve you, the Nez Perce and YWAM Native Ministries?
Ministry begins with building relationships. Out of growing relationships flow the opportunities to touch the lives of others through encouraging, challenging and working, playing and eating together. Evangelism is important. However, we desire for visiting teams to equip those reached through Bible study, discussions, a “discipleship course” or other tools in a growing walk with Jesus.
Open-air meetings with sports ministry (especially basketball and football) drama, music, testimonies, sharing and praying for people can serve to open doors. It is important that you establish relationships with those you want to reach during your outreach. This seems to best be achieved through events that draw people and personal contact, by sharing meals and time together. We can possibly arrange for visitation at homes for the elderly and sick/
If your team has members with construction experience, we might also be able to have work projects for one or more Native congregations set up (landscaping, building, painting, etc.)
Do you have access to facilities which would safely house students?
Because of our facilities, a team of 5 + members but not more than 20 people would probably be ideal.
Teams that have come before have had to bunk in a local church or use our meeting hall, which has a kitchen, 2 restrooms and one shower. If the team is small, we might be able to arrange accommodation with local families, which also depends on the length of your stay. We also have an RV-Park and campground and several reasonably priced motels in town.
What would be the approximate cost of the various living expenses (food, lodging, transportation)?
Your team is responsible for providing their own meals You will have access to a kitchen for meal preparation in our ministry center. The team will also have to arrange for their own transportation. We do not have a vehicle available for team use. To help us cover miscellaneous costs for utilities and building expenses etc. we ask for a $ 50 fee per person/per week.
Will we be able to buy groceries after we get to the reservation?
Yes, we have a good stocked Super market right in town
Will we have access to showers?
